We recently had a client who was experiencing graphic problems with their laptop after about a half hour of operation. As it turned
out, their system had several critical BIOS updates released and they had not installed them. These updates corrected a problem
with the integrated graphics chipset overheating. Without the fix, the chips overheated to the point of damaging them beyond repair.
The solution to this problem required a new motherboard. If this system had not been under warranty, it would have been cheaper to replace
the computer rather than pay for the new parts and labor required to install the motherboard.
